Wenger eyes Silvestre move

Arsenal have been linked with a surprise move to sign Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre.
Silvestre, 31, was reported to be close to joining either Sunderland or Manchester City this week after slipping down the pecking order at Old Trafford during the past two seasons.
The former France international has been with the Red Devils for eight years, but is out of contract next summer and was set to leave for a cut-price fee following a string of injury problems.
However, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is reported to be interested in signing the versatile defender as he looks to add some experience to his own backline.
The Frenchman sees Silvestre as the ideal man to provide cover for his first-choice left-back Gael Clichy.
"Arsene has been looking for experienced cover for Gael Clichy and he knows all about Mikael," claimed a Gunners source.
"Arsene has followed his career with France and at United and the fact he is French is a bonus."
