Everton have dismissed reports suggesting that they had accepted a bid of £10.5million from Fulham for England striker Andrew Johnson.
The 27-year-old frontman has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, with the Cottagers rumoured to be heading a chase that also includes Middlesbrough and West Ham United.
However, the Toffees have denied fresh reports claiming that a deal was close at hand.
Chief executive Keith Wyness told the club's official website: "Contrary to some media reports that have surfaced today, the club can confirm that no offer has been received.
"Neither has any deal been agreed for Andrew Johnson with Fulham Football Club."
Johnson moved to Goodison Park in the summer of 2006 from Crystal Palace and has scored 22 goals in 74 appearances for David Moyes' side.
He has also won eight caps for England, although he has not featured for the national team since September last year.
