Falkirk have won the race to sign the former Aberdeen striker Steve Lovell on a 12-month contract with a further one-year option.
The 27-year-old was a free agent after being allowed to leave Pittodrie at the end of last season and recently spent three days with the Bairns during their pre-season training camp in the Netherlands.
Delighted boss John Hughes told the club's official website: "I m absolutely over the moon about the signing.
"I've admired Steve's ability for a long time and knew I'd have to persevere to get his name on the dotted line.
"That's the reason I took him to Holland because I felt I could sell the club to him on the strength of the camaraderie that exists in the dressing room here."
Before joining Aberdeen three years ago, Lovell enjoyed spells with Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Dundee as well as have loan periods at Exeter City, Sheffield United and QPR.
