Barr urged to seize chance

Falkirk defender Darren Barr has been backed to win his first Scotland start by the Bairns' assistant boss Brian Rice.
The 23-year-old has been included in George Burley's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against FYR Macedonia and Iceland after winning his first cap as a substitute in last month's friendly stalemate against Northern Ireland.
Injuries to Alan Hutton, David Weir, Callum Davidson and Kevin McNaughton could hand Barr his chance, with Rice telling the Daily Record: "Seize the day is one of my mottos and Darren has to remember that.
"He's been handed his chance by being called up and has to go and grasp it. You never know when opportunities like this will next present themselves.
"It's fantastic for him and the club to be involved so he must have done something right at the last gathering on and off the field.
"Darren deserves everything he gets. He's a smashing kid. He was out on loan at Forfar to get games three years ago and you could tell then he had something about him the way he handled himself."
