Do England players really care about International Football?

England face Germany on Wednesday evening for an International friendly in Berlin, however travelling fans will be left disappointed having paid approximately £500 for the trip; they will only get to see mainly a second string England team. England will be without many key players including Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Wes Brown, Ashley Cole, Joe Cole and Emile Heskey leaving just four of Capello's likely first-choice line-up available for selection.
So why is it always the same old story when England are due to play an International friendly? Just take a look at some of the South American sides, and their attitudes towards any International fixture. They take huge amounts of pride to pull on the shirt that represents their country.
What are your thoughts? Are England players letting down those travelling fans by pulling out? Would these players really be missing had this been an important international fixture? Are International friendy games important and what can Capello do to prevent withdrawals of this kind in future?
