Grimsby Town have dismissed reports which suggested that former Boston United boss Steve Evans was in the frame to become their next manager.
The League Two strugglers are on the lookout for a new manager following their decision to part company with Alan Buckley last month.
However, the club are adamant that neither current Crawley Town manager Evans, nor former Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson will be filling the vacancy at Blundell Park.
"We can confirm that Grimsby Town have not received an application from Evans, nor have the Mariners approached him about the vacant manager's position," read a club statement.
"We can also confirm that former Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson isn't in the frame for the job either."
