Grimsby Town will not have a new manager in place before Saturday's home clash with Barnet.
Mariners chairman John Fenty has revealed that the League Two club are in no rush to appoint a successor to sacked former boss Alan Buckley.
Current caretaker boss Stuart Watkiss will therefore take the reins again this weekend.
"Applications are still arriving and we will look at them next week," Fenty told the club's official website.
"We will look at them next week and whittle them down.
"Stuart has shown that he has some good contacts in the game and he is hoping to bring in some more players to strengthen the team."
