Grimsby Town have signed Ipswich Town midfielder Liam Trotter on a one-month loan deal.
The 20-year-old has made just a handful of starts for the Tractor Boys to date and should gain valuable first-team experience at Blundell Park.
Mariners caretaker manager, Stuart Watkiss, told the club's official website: "We've managed to persuade Ipswich to let him out. He's an attacking midfielder and he will definitely be in the squad on Saturday.
"He's 6ft 2in and is obviously a big strong lad. I've also spoken to another Championship club about another player and I am hoping to bring in a player from a Premier League club next week."
Town boss Jim Magilton added: "It's important that our younger players are gaining experience of first-team football all the time.
"Liam will have a chance of getting regular football over the next month and that will add to his education in the game."
