Newell encouraged by start

Newly-installed Grimsby Town boss Mike Newell claims he is encouraged by the promise he has seen in the ranks at Blundell Park.
The Mariners saw a potential first victory of the season slip through their fingers after Wycombe Wanderers netted in the 90th minute of Saturday's 1-1 draw.
But despite the late blow in his first game at the helm, Newell believes he has inherited a squad that is good enough to move away from the drop zone.
He said: "I am obviously disappointed not to win but it was always going to be a long 89 minutes, leading 1-0 against a side that is unbeaten this season and have only conceded three goals.
"I can see why they are where they are. They are a physical side and have a presence. So it was always going to be hard for us, but I couldn't fault the lads for their effort and commitment.
"It was a struggle at times. We can probably get more quality out of them but they are a little bit drained at the moment in terms of confidence.
"Once they get a few results under their belts you will see a difference.''
