Sheffield Wednesday have been hit by the news that striker Akpo Sodje faces two months on the sidelines after damaging a tendon in his knee.
Sodje starred in Wednesday's impressive 4-1 opening day victory over Burnley, scoring twice before limping off after 21 minutes.
"The scan confirmed that Akpo has damaged a tendon behind his knee. We're now going to send him to the specialist," manager Brian Laws explained to the club's official website.
"One of the most important things is to discover how long he's going to be out for. We saw on Saturday what kind of difference Sodje makes to the team.
"Any length of time will be detrimental to the team, so we need to find out as quickly as possible so we can adjust."
